# Listing images

> Write and render Amazon listing images, one for each image slot.

These are Amazon listing images. An Amazon listing has a main image and up to
eight supporting images; the API writes a direction for each of up to nine
slots, then renders the slots you want. It works like the app's Amazon
Listing Images studio, for the marketplace you pick.

Rendering is split from writing: ideas are free and instant to iterate on, and
only the slots you render cost credits.

## Before you start

* A product with `status: "ready"`. See [Products](/setup/products).
* An API key with `amazon_listings:generate` (and `amazon_listings:read` to
  list, `amazon_listings:update` to edit directions).
* 2 credits per image you render (18 for a full set of nine).

## Cost

Each rendered image costs 2 credits (the `amazon_listing_image` operation in
`GET /pricing`). Writing and editing ideas is free. Set `max_credits` on a
render request to cap what it can spend; see
